TMS E-Journal - Edition 94Edition 94: Hopes, Dreams....and Coming Trends for 2014 has just been released in the Learning Exchange. This is our annual themed e-journal edition where invited authors from our international community of practice are asked to look towards 2014 and write about their hopes and dreams, and what they see as the coming trends.
Feature article contributors are Nicolas A. Zeitler, Mallen Baker, Dick McCann, Richard Hadden, Robert Whipple, China Gorman, Tom Gibbons and Dan Schawbel.
To get the edition started Nicolas Zeitler draws on key European and global research to give us a look at the top 7 trends in HR and how these might shape the coming year; Mallen Baker explores four emerging trends in corporate social responsibility and asks us to consider if our company is part of the trends and/or should it be; Dick McCann delivers a timely discussion on adaptability, core skill-bases and whether 2014 will truly be the year of the L&D Chameleon...and why it needs to be; in looking to 2014 Richard Hadden reflects on the results and insights from a survey he conducted on leadership and gives key takeaway points and a 90-day plan for improvement; Robert Whipple rewrites the phrase "think outside the box" giving it a new and relevant context before providing tips for recognizing and operating with boxes; China Gorman predicts some of the top trends that will impact our workplaces in 2014 and uses key studies from the US to highlight the importance of these; in a truly thought-provoking piece, Tom Gibbons gives us much to stop and consider in his examination of the growing focus on character in our organizations; and Dan Schawbel rounds out the feature articles with a look at the top 10 workplace trends he is following in 2014.
